Summary: This is another bit I started some time ago and want to be inspired to somehow finish. I RP Ireland with my friend (she does Scotland and England) and I have come to really adore developing her character.

So not everything in this is explained really, especially her relationship with Scotland but that's coming later---I just wanted to write about Ireland, bits about her, the Vikings, Rome, England and coming to America.

Also, the use of Ireland's and Scotland's modern names during Ancient Rome's time is historically inaccurate. I am aware of that. I'm just using them until I decide if I want to mess around with the changing names business.

Summary: So far, Canada on D-Day (June 6th, 1944; when England, America, Canada and France beached on the French coast to begin kicking the Germans out).

I have not decided where exactly I wanted to go with this--I just thought it would be fun to write a fight scene between Canada and Germany and I don't often see any England/Canada.

This is most definitely not yet finished. I'm just hoping that posting it will inspire me a little.

Just so you know. But I found this great fic on the Kink meme but it's anon, of course, so I have no way to save it. So I'm putting the link here. It's about different countries dealing with some of the terrible things they've done.

Summary: This all relates back to a prompt I received from [livejournal.com profile] luminousbeat, who wanted: Uh... Belgium, Prussia, and Germany. Over the violation of Belgium's neutrality promised to her by the Treaty of London in 1839 (Prussia handed the responsibilities of the treaty over to Germany, meaning Germany shouldn't have invaded Belgium, but did regardless). And became different times during the World Wars (though, mostly WW2) that Prussia disagreed with what Germany did. And seeing England's method of raising kids wasn't really any worse.

So, my desktop is still down and I'm trying not to stress about it.

So I'm going back to the list of prompts that I asked for--geez, almost a month ago and I want to start writing pirate!Spain, which I think will be all kinds of fun. I don't often write for Spain--but I would like to start trying to get him. It will be good practice for when I get my desktop back up and can continue on my WIP (which I have decided to call "It's a Wonderful World". Because. I dunno. I was outside doing yard work the other day and that song was stuck in my head and I suddenly stopped and went, "HEY!") It was [livejournal.com profile] sliefoxx that asked for pirate!Spain--in a fic trade where she wrote about bitty!Canada and France for me. So I need to get on that. (Oh, I never asked her--if she wanted it as a gen fic or as a shipping one. Huh. Need to do that too.)

But, in the meantime, while I think of how to write Spain, I just randomly started writing about Canada during D-Day (June 6, 1944--Normandy invasion) and I kinda wanna do maybe England/Canada because I've never done it and I rarely see it. But I also rarely see America/Canada.

I don't suppose anyone has any thoughts about that? Since it's from Canada's POV, I kind of like the idea of it being England/Canada. And it's always interesting to have other characters from the outside looking at America--as I do a lot of my fics from America's POV. So it's cool to see how he's viewed from the outside sometimes. It will be good practice for later.

Man, I hope me writing all this doesn't make me seem presumptuous and arrogant. I just wanted to put some thoughts down about writing.

Anyway, I think of Spain as being...well, cheerful and informal and very casual and laid-back. Very, very aware of his history but doesn't obsess over it--tries to let the past go. Absolutely deadly with a long axe, fantastic sailor, almost recklessly brave--and likes to fight the bulls. Very stubborn, doesn't succumb easily to torture or interrogation. Has a fierce love/hate with both France and Prussia and believes he knows them best--or at least better than most.

This is a bit I've been holding onto for a long time because I couldn't figure out what to do with it. But sometimes I find that I get inspired after I post things publicly. I'm not sure why that is--I guess just the pressure of, "Hey, everyone can see this! Make it better!"

The topic was...the idea of a third World War--and given the current temperament of politics right now, I just very briefly alluded to it starting in the Middle East and spreading from there. That is not something I've finalized--which is why I kept references to it short because I haven't worked it all out yet--how it started or how it's going to end.

This is not going to be a long epic story because I probably would get lost in the details. This first bit is about 30 pages and if every bit ended up being around that long, that wouldn't surprise me.

In short, any comments or anything would be really appreciated. This is, again, a work-in-progress--so nothing is set in stone. Nothing is finished. I don't even have a title picked out.

I just write and work by myself and have no one to really bounce ideas off of.

EDIT: And my original intention to post--was too long, so I cut some of the last pages of part one off...and I guess I'll add them into part two.

Character(s) or Pairing(s): implied England/France, pre-revolutionary!America and Canada
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: language, fem!England, France is opportunistic, America tries to kill him
Summary: I saw a cute little piece yesterday about fem!England and child!America and I thought it was weird that I've never seen anything with an older America. So I thought, "Hey! I'll try it!"

And now, I completely understand why I don't ever see it. Because it is one of the most awkward things ever.

Because it seems entirely natural for America to suddenly realize, "Whoa, my mom is hot!"

Also, I way prefer England with the bun. I know "official fem!England" has pigtails but the bun just seems so her.

This was just a short, fun piece to write because it flits between amusingly awkward and awkwardly serious.

Title: The Tommyknockers
Author/Artist: [livejournal.com profile] historyblitz
Character(s) or Pairing(s): America/England, mentions of Canada and France
Rating: PG-13,
Warnings: language and some suggestive dialog

Notes: Haha, I wrote this last night and this morning because of a conversation I had with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] katamanda. We were talking about a game--and I mentioned the Tommyknockers. I wasn't sure if she had heard of them so I asked her, "Hey, do you know about the Tommyknockers?"

And she says, "Those pixies that live in mines?"

And I was like, "Huh?"

You see, I had never heard of the folklore behind Tommyknockers. I know of them from the Stephen King novel (and movie that I saw when I was seven--and I love Stephen King but that traumatized me for life--I still haven't read that book all the way through because of what I saw in that movie) but they are very, very different from England's Tommyknockers.

So I thought it would be hilarious to do a little piece--based on a real misunderstanding between an American and an Englishwoman.

And, y'know, because it's fun.

Not sure if I'll post this to the main comm--since it's just for fun and it's pretty short.

Rating: Thematic R
Warnings: violence, symbolism
Summary: The end of World War II, Russia's revenge on Germany and the building and falling of the Berlin Wall.

As a note. I am an American. I was all of three years old when the Berlin Wall fell. So what I am going on is some stuff from my history classes and bits I looked up on youtube. This is a work in progress---so if there is some historical detail here that I have missed, please tell me.

Just in case you need visuals, I nabbed a couple maps offline. Map showing the territory of old Prussia and a map of the four sectors made by the Allied powers. (Trying to find a newer map of Prussia. That one is too old.)

Russia slid a finger up, touching Prussia’s ear; still he didn’t flinch. )

Edit: Here we go. And you'll actually see that Prussia is not technically within German borders at the end of World War II. He was actually east of Germany and he lost all his territory to Poland and the USSR.

I'll admit...I messed that up and am just discovering it now that I spent quite a bit of time doing this. That's what I get for not researching thoroughly enough first.

Now I'm not sure what I should do with this. I still enjoyed writing this a lot. I don't often see these two on a brotherly level. I suppose maybe so long as I put up a disclaimer that I am well-aware of the historical inaccuracy--that Prussia is not technically East Germany--I could post it anyway?

Though, though, in the Old Prussia map--Prussia used to have that whole expanse of territory. (I really don't want these 15 pages to go to waste. I like this. Haha, so yes, I am looking for connections now.) So, technically--since Prussia united Germany and is Germany's brother--the Allies sort of 'pin' him as "east Germany' anyway. Russia did say he would "become East Germany"....so. So. Technically, this could work.

Edit: Haha, I came back to edit and, by chance, I turned on the song Pieces and suddenly this was a billion times sadder.
